Devlog #3: Almost done animating Kiri
Hello everybody, it's the Paper Park team here, and the past two weeks have been productive!
For starters, Nuno our animator finished attacking Kiri's attacks. We're very close to having him animated fully, which will make prototyping much easier. We might have him finished by the next devlog!
Guilherme also added a menu to display, choose and delete saves, though the saves themselves aren't yet working. And Zé fixed a very big bug where you could wall jump on one wall infinitely.
As for me, I participated in the 7DRL challenge, and due to some unforeseen circumstances by one of our group members, my workload was much bigger than anticipated. So only today on Tuesday did I actually finish my work and publish this devlog. And my job was to review our Game Design Document and add a Combat Design section to it! This was so we could release it, so as you're reading this, you can go to our game's page and download the PDF file. It's a very extensive document expressing our ideas, philosophies, and plans that I think people will find interesting, especially those curious about joining the project.
Finally, we did have some bad news, as Inês, our character designer, had to leave the project. We here at the Paper Park team wish her the best in her future endeavors, and her great contributions to Kiri's, Kami's and Rokoan's designs will live on in the final project!
So what are we planning to do these next two weeks:
- Add a rolling animation to Kiri, for when he lands from high jumps.
- Add a tab to display collected tickets to the pause menu
- Begin work on the camera system.
We'll see you two weeks from now to let you know how it went. This is the Paper Park Team, signing off!
