Devlog #5: A Dragon Is Born
Hello everybody, it's the Paper Park team here, and the past two weeks have seen the team increase!
That's right, GDT newbie Margarida Prates is joining us as a 3D modeler and animator. She will spend this sprint modeling our dragon boss for the Fairy Glade. This is a design we've had for a while, and it's going to be great to see it come to life.
Mafalda wrote Kiri dialogue, Nuno kept up his quest to animate Kiri, which is nearly over, while Zé and Guilherme worried about the code. It was a standard sprint.
Carlos developed ideas for enemies, in accordance with our design philosophy. Easy enemies, with projectile-based attacks. We plan on a witch that fires projectiles, a Bremen thief which is similar but actually attempts to dodge attacks, and whatever this thing is we found in our moldboard for the Fairy Glade, but he's gonna spit fire and create an area-of-effect attack for the player to dodge.
So what are we planning to do these next two weeks:
- Model the dragon
- Plan the dragon boss fight
- Start writing the boss intro cutscene
- Add Swiming animation
We'll see you two weeks from now to let you know how it went. This is the Paper Park Team, signing off!
